Chips Ahoy: Hoisting Morty, the 3,000 pound hunk of chocolate Robert R. McElroy – Newsweek.

Chocoholics, prepare for orbit. We’d like to introduce you to Morty Morsel, a giant chocolate chip created for the 50th anniversary of the Nestle Toll House Morsel. At 5 feet tall, 5 1/2 feet wide and 3,000 pounds, Morty had to be hoisted by crane into a second-floor Manhattan loft for a party last week. Then Morty – the equivalent of about 1 1/2 million regular chips – was hacked up and fed to guests. The samples were, reportedly, blocks off the old chip.
